This Assignment is designed to assess CO4 [PO5]; students expected to prepare the assignment as described below.
CO4: Demonstrate the project planning and schedule control using project
management software. [PO5, LO2, SS1] {P5}
PO5 Able to Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and
modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to
complex engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations
(WK6)
WP WP1 – Depth of knowledge required
WP4 – Familiarity of issues (involved infrequently encountered issues)
WP7 – Interdependence (are high level problems including many
component parts or sub-problems)
To develop a comprehensive project management plan for an engineering project worth at least $500,000, using Microsoft Project software. Students will assume the role of the Project Manager and will be responsible for planning the project from initiation to closing.
The submitted assignment should cover all contents as highlighted in Table 1 –
Assignment 2 Assessment Rubric.
(This rubric will be used as a guide to mark the students’ work)
(v) (PO5) Modern Tool Usage – Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations (WK6); [Reference: Engineering Programme Accreditation Standard 2020, 6.2 Criterion 2 Programme Outcomes, page 9, Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)]
(WK6): Knowledge of engineering practice (technology) in the practice areas in the engineering discipline. [Reference: IEA Graduate Attributes and Professional Competency Profiles, International Engineering Alliance IEA, Version 3, 21 June 2013, http://www.ieagreements.org.]
