• Problem Statement

Academic buildings are still uncharted territory for many first-year students, who have taken most of their classes online (Miranda Asral, 2021). The transition to college life can be marred by the daunting challenge of campus navigation for new students, who often grapple with the unfamiliarity of the campus layout, complex building structures, and a distinct lack of clear signage. The vast and intricate campus geography can leave newcomers feeling lost and overwhelmed, exacerbating the issue when combined with the intricate layouts of university buildings.

Roaming around in search of a building with their belongings in hand would not be a pleasant first-day experience at the campus for them (Mohd Nizam et al., 2021). This can lead to stress, tardiness, and missed classes, affecting academic performance and overall satisfaction. The absence of clear signage can further compound these issues, causing students to aimlessly wander buildings in search of specific classrooms or lecture halls. Universities must address these challenges to create a smoother and more enjoyable transition for their students, ultimately enhancing the overall college experience and institutional reputation.
