“Leading Through Turbulence: A Strategic Organisational Behaviour (OB) Audit and Intervention”
Your group is acting as a specialised OB Consulting Firm. You are required to select a real-world organisation that has undergone a significant change or crisis in the last 24 months (e.g., a merger, a leadership scandal, a digital transformation, or a major workforce restructuring).
Your team must conduct a Comprehensive OB Audit and propose a strategic intervention plan focusing on three levels of analysis: Individual, Group, and Organisational System.
To ensure all 6 members contribute equally, the report should be divided into the following sections:
(a) Organisational Context and Diagnostics: Analyse the current climate and the specific “trigger” event using a diagnostic framework (e.g., Nadler-Tushman Congruence Model).
(b) Individual Level: Motivation and Perception: Analyse how the event affected employee morale, using theories like Expectancy Theory or the Job Characteristics Model or any other theories.
(c) Group Level: Team Dynamics and Conflict: Evaluate how the crisis impacted team cohesion and psychological safety. Apply Tuckman’s Model or Lencioni’s Five Dysfunctions or any other models.
(d) Leadership and Power: Critique the leadership style displayed during the event. Was it Transformational, Transactional, or Level 5 Leadership? How was power exercised?
(e) Organisational Culture: Map the culture using the Competing Values Framework. Determine if the culture helped or hindered the organisation’s response.
(f) Strategic Intervention and Change Management: Propose a 12-month roadmap for improvement using Kotter’s 8-Step Process or Lewin’s Three-Step Model.
Your report should be formatted as a professional academic submission, following a logical and sequential order.
