WEIGHTING TOWARDS THE ASSIGNMENT: Total: 100% (This assignment contributes 60% to the final coursework marks)
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
Prototyping Presentation : Week 6
Final Presentation & Program Submission : Week 12-14
With the exception of Extenuating Mitigating Circumstances (EMC) reasons, penalty for late submission of coursework shall be imposed after submission deadline / extended submission deadline:
- Late submission within 1 – 3 days: total marks to be deducted is 10 marks.
- Late submission within 4 – 7 days: total marks to be deducted is 20 marks.
- Late submission after 7 days: reject coursework and zero mark shall be awarded.
LEARNING OUTCOME BEING ASSESSED:
CLO1: Demonstrate the appropriate theoretical and basic concepts in mobile application development (C3, PLO2)
CLO2: Develop basic Android mobile apps based on the architecture in Android apps development. (P3, PLO3)
CLO3: Demonstrate team work spirit in developing mobile application. (A2, PLO4)
SCENARIO:
Your team is tasked to create a mobile application that addresses specific needs of businesses. The app should offer functionalities that enhance efficiency, productivity, or decision-making processes within a business environment. You are encouraged to be creative and innovative in your approach while considering practicality and feasibility.
Business Problem Identification:
– Identify a specific challenge or opportunity faced by businesses in today’s market environment. You may suggest any business available.
– What problem will your app address?
– Why is it important for businesses?
Target Audience Analysis:
– Define the target audience for your app. Who are the primary users? What are their characteristics and needs?
– How will your app meet the needs of the target audience effectively?

DELIVERABLES:
PROTOTYPE PRESENTATION:
Create a prototype of your app and present it to your tutor. Prepare a 10 minutes presentation. Your presentation slide should be no more than 10 slides. The slides should include the following items:
1. Title of app
2. Introduction
3. Problem(s) and solution(s)
4. Navigation structure
5. Screen design (draft)
6. Conclusion
7. Q&A
Submit your presentation slides (soft copy) to your tutor or via Google Classroom. All members must participate in the presentation.
FINAL PRESENTATION:
Complete the assignment and present it to your tutor. Prepare a 10 – 25 minutes presentation (about 5 minutes for each team member). Your presentation should include the following:
1. Introduction
2. Live demo of your mobile app
3. Code inspection by your tutor
Submit the following items to your tutor:
1. A presentation slide containing all the mobile app main screens
2. Appendix A, B, C and D
3. A compressed copy of your program source code (zip format)
4. An installation file (APK)
