Course Learning Outcomes :

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSESSMENT:
The objective of this assignment is to enable students from enforcement backgrounds to demonstrate how they apply or could apply modern crime science technologies in their operational environment. It tests both technical competency and strategic planning skills in enhancing intelligence, surveillance, and investigative effectiveness.
INSTRUCTIONS:
You are required to prepare a project report (3,000–4,000 words) analysing the use, integration, or improvement of a technological system or approach relevant to your agency’s operational context.
The report should focus on:
- Identifying a real or simulated enforcement challenge (e.g., cross-border trafficking, cybercrime, financial fraud, environmental crime, or community policing).
- Evaluating current and emerging technologies/software that can strengthen intelligence or investigative capacity.
- Formulating a strategic plan or operational framework for implementing or enhancing such technology effectively, ethically, and within resource constraints.
The content and format of the report, presentation slides, and presentation should be done according to the following instructions:
1. PROJECT REPORT (3000- 4000 words excluding references and appendices)
i. Cover page with your full name, IC number, and affiliation
ii. Organise your report with a clear introduction, a main body and a conclusion that includes the following aspects:
- Introduction
o Overview of the enforcement context
o Relate it with a real or simulated enforcement challenge
- Content
o Description of existing technological systems or methods used in intelligence and investigations.
o Analysis of specific tools, including strengths, limitations, and potential integration.
o Develop a realistic and ethical plan to optimize or integrate technology in your agency’s operations.
o Discuss resource allocation, skill requirements, and sustainability.
- Conclusion
o Summarize key findings, policy suggestions, or improvements.
iii. References (Cite academic sources to support your arguments, using proper referencing in the required format)
FORMAT OF THE REPORT
- Students must write the report using Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment.
- Margins must be set to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- The file should be submitted in PDF format.
- All sources used must be properly cited using APA 7th edition referencing style, with a minimum of eight credible sources, including at least two local or regional references.
- Number the pages accordingly
- Bullet points are not allowed
- Students are required to write the report in a professional format using clear headings and subheadings to organize their content.
- This ensures the report is systematic, readable, and reflects enforcement reporting standards.

3. PRESENTATION
- Each candidate is required to do a physical presentation of the mentioned topic.
- The contents must be based on the presentation slides
- The requirement of the online presentation is stated as below:
o Duration of presentation:
- 30 minutes (20 minutes presentation & 10 minutes Q&A)
o Formal attire is compulsory.
