Question1
A transistor can be employed as an amplifying device where DC and AC analysis is used to obtain the amplifier parameter required. By using the exact method for the BJT circuit in Figure 1, answer the following questions:
- Name the type of configuration of this amplifier
- What is the type of biasing for the diagram?
- Applied DC analysis of base current, I and emitter current,
- Determine internal AC resistance, er from DC analysis.
- Reconstruct an AC equivalent circuit.
- Calculate AC parameters such as input impedance ( Zi), output impedance ( ZO), and voltage gain
Question 2
Amplifiers that create voltage, current, and power gain through the use of two or more stages are called multistage amplifiers. It can be done in direct or RC connection. The NPN transistor and the PNP transistor in Figure 2 below are using direct connection, both have a β = 100. Evaluate the circuit and answer the following questions:
- Name the configuration for each stage amplifier.
- Determine DC bias for voltage and current at each stage.
- Redesign the circuit into an ac equivalent circuit.
- Analyze the ac circuit to find the amplifier input and output impedance, Zi and
- Calculate voltage gain, AV for each stage, and its overall voltage gain, AVT.
