Mini-Case Study: Human Aspects of Project Management
ABC Company is implementing a new online customer service system. The project team consists of staff from IT, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service departments.
The Project Manager, Mr. Amir, is responsible for ensuring the project is completed within three months. However, he faces several challenges. Some team members are unclear about their roles, while others are not motivated because they feel the project is an extra workload. There are also disagreements between the IT team and Operations team regarding the system requirements.
To solve these issues, Mr. Amir holds regular team meetings, clearly explains each member’s responsibilities, listens to their concerns, and encourages cooperation between departments. He also recognizes team members who complete their tasks on time and supports those who are facing difficulties.
Through better communication, teamwork, motivation, and conflict management, the project team becomes more committed and the project progresses smoothly.
ABC Company sedang melaksanakan sistem perkhidmatan pelanggan dalam talian yang baharu. Pasukan projek terdiri daripada kakitangan daripada Jabatan IT, Kewangan, Operasi dan Khidmat Pelanggan.
Pengurus Projek, Encik Amir, bertanggungjawab untuk memastikan projek tersebut disiapkan dalam tempoh tiga bulan. Walau bagaimanapun, beliau menghadapi beberapa cabaran. Sebahagian ahli pasukan tidak jelas tentang peranan masing-masing, manakala sebahagian yang lain kurang bermotivasi kerana merasakan projek tersebut sebagai beban kerja tambahan. Terdapat juga perselisihan pendapat antara pasukan IT dan pasukan Operasi berkaitan keperluan sistem.
Bagi menyelesaikan isu-isu tersebut, Encik Amir mengadakan mesyuarat pasukan secara berkala, menerangkan tanggungjawab setiap ahli pasukan dengan jelas, mendengar pandangan dan kebimbangan mereka, serta menggalakkan kerjasama antara jabatan. Beliau juga memberi pengiktirafan kepada ahli pasukan yang berjaya menyiapkan tugasan tepat pada masa dan memberi sokongan kepada mereka yang menghadapi kesukaran.
Melalui komunikasi yang lebih baik, kerja berpasukan, motivasi dan pengurusan konflik, pasukan projek menjadi lebih komited dan projek berjalan dengan lebih lancar.
