Individual Case Analysis Report (40% of overall module grade)

This assignment requires students to analyse a common international business case provided by the lecturer. Students will apply relevant International Business concepts and theories to evaluate the firm’s international operations, its business environment, and emerging challenges affecting its performance in international markets. The analysis should demonstrate critical thinking, evidence-based reasoning, and an understanding of how international business conditions influence firm strategy and decisionmaking.

The case context may vary across semesters to reflect current international business conditions; however, the assessment requirements and evaluation criteria will remain consistent.

Tasks

Question 1: Case Analysis and Application of Concepts (MLO1)

Analyse the case using relevant international business concepts and theories. In your answer, you should:

• Identify the key international business issues presented in the case;
• Apply appropriate theories or frameworks to explain the firm’s situation;
• Analyse the issue from multiple perspectives, such as firm-level, industry-level, and the broader international environment.

Question 2: Evaluation of Emerging Implications (MLO1)

Evaluate how the identified issue(s) may develop over time and discuss their possible implications for the firm’s international operations or strategy. In your answer, you should:

• Discuss key trends, uncertainties, or external factors influencing the issue;
• Consider alternative ways the situation could evolve; Evaluate how different stakeholders may be affected.
