Purpose

to assesses how well you have engaged with and understood the material taught in the class, and your ability to apply this in practice

Task

Select a strategic business unit of a company and develop 2 macroeconomic scenarios which characterise the economy in a country or region of your choosing in 5 years in conditions of economic crisis and different trend changes (driving force).

Scenario

• For example: scenario 1: there is an economic crisis precipitated by a shock to energy prices and climate change accelerates over the next 5 years, and scenario 2 there is an economic crisis precipitated by a shock to energy prices and technological change accelerates over the next 5 years.
• Examine how the contextual and industrial environment of the selected business unit will be shaped within each macroeconomic scenario;
• Deduce the implications for the internal of the business unit and particularly the sustainability of its competitive advantage;
• Discuss/compare the differences in the implications of each scenario.

Guidelines

Maximum of 10 page PDF (what you do with those 10 pages is up to you!), formatting, structure, etc is up to you to decide (subject to it being readable!) and addressing the task above.
