Conventional energy sources like coal, gas, and oil are rapidly depleting while the world’s energy demand is growing more rapidly. A diversity of renewable energy sources will replace conventional energy sources and the conventional transmission and distribution system. Conventional energy sources can cause several different types of pollution.

Some of the most common ones are air pollution, acid rain, and greenhouse gases. As a result of fossil fuel combustion, chemicals and particulates are released into the atmosphere to produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon, nitrogen oxide, and sulphur dioxide.
